This all happens in a new web UI, a few new and updated APIs, and a daily export to BigQuery (big data enthusiasts rejoice!).App+Web uses a new data modelAlthough this sounds advanced, you can think of a data model, in this context, as: how data is processed and organized. This has implications for how the data can then be aggregated and used.As you can see, the level of the data model has been changed from three to two, and the focus has shifted to users and events.
Events range from page or screen views to specific actions such as a site search, file download, video view, etc.To be clear, this doesn't mean sessions aren't available in App+Web, they are. They can even be calculated via BigQuery (similar to the current situation of the GA360 > BigQuery session). Nor does it mean that the concept of attribution or Source/Medium/Campaign etc. will disappear. These will certainly still exist. This change just means everything will be user first, not session first.Why is Google introducing a new data model?The previous data model was based on the arbitrary construction of a session.
